OTHER TOPICS
Notable artists and DJs • House is a style of
electronic dance music that originated in Chicago,
Illinois, USA in the early 1980s. It was initially
popularized in mid-1980s discothèques catering
to the African-American, [1] Latino American, [1]
[2] [3] communities; first in Chicago, then in other
US cities such as Detroit, New York City, Los
Angeles and Miami. It then reached Europe before
becoming infused in mainstream pop and dance
music worldwide since the early to mid-1990s.
House is strongly influenced by elements of soul-
and funk-infused varieties of disco.[citation
needed] House generally mimics disco's
percussion, especially the use of a prominent
bass drum on every beat, but may feature a
prominent synthesizer bass line, electronic
drums, electronic effects, funk and pop samples,
and reverb- or delay-enhanced vocals.
WHAT ARE THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT?
1. Only send tracks that are downloadable in
320KBs plus, this goes for mixes as well.
2. Tracks should have an underground feel,
whether they are classics or recent material.
3. As we are trying to maintain a healthy balance
between mixes and tracks, mixes will get
approved less easily and should contain a track
listing, thereby helping people to discover new
tracks.
4. Don't be disappointed in case not all your
contributions get approved. We are building the
best! What about rights? Like countless other
music blogs & communities, all the music that is
shared here is for promotional reasons only,
supporting music & artists that normally don't
receive the attention they deserve. If any of the
tunes here are yours and you'd like them
removed, just let as know and we will delete
them. If you find a track or artist you like, please
buy at regular shops.
5. Also please edit the genre on your track so it
appears in blue at the end of the Soundcloud
player!!! This should make it a lot easier for
everyone to find what genre they ’re looking for...
To make it absolutely certain that your music gets
found... Please put a link to your track in the
discussion section too... E.g. Soundcloud link,
Facebook, MySpace, Blog, etc..
